Emma bemma bo bemma
Emma was born in Kyoto, Japan, in the summer of 1979. For two weeks in 1980, her family occupied three rooms of a cargo ship, travling across the Pacifica Ocean. They moved to San Francisco, where she and her older brother, Tomo, enrolled in Japanese bilingual schools, and started to learn English.
In high school, some good people befriended Emma and introduced her to Jesus. She has been a lover & follower of Jesus since 1996. Emma was involved with Young Life for several years, innitially as one of the youth, then as a leader, then on student staff. Relationships with people from both Young Life and Golden Gate Community church taught her about faith, grace, courage, and Jesus, and the good plans our loving God has for us.
This is where Emma eventually met Jonn Beames. The two started dating in May of 1999, were engaged in June of 2000, and were married in January of 2001. And lived happily ever after.
Emma graduated from San Francisco State University in 2002, with a BA in Child & Adolescent Development. She has been working in the Early Childhood Education field since November of 2002.
